Exciting Farringdon foodies since 2003, the Vivat Bacchus wine bar and restaurant is passionate about food and wine in equal measure. The brasserie style dining room is slick and urban yet cosy with a relaxed, unpretentious feel both down in the wine bar and above stairs in the intimate restaurant space. An almost constantly changing menu provides even the most regular visitor to Vivat Bacchus with variety, the kitchen exploring not only the Western world but the more exotic flavours of Africa and the Pacific Rim too with unusual meats often finding the spotlight. For oenophiles, Vivat Bacchus is sheer heaven, with over 18,000 bottles ranging from well known French favourites to boutique vintages, any of which can be enjoyed alongside the best of the famous walk in cheese room with its incredible range of cheeses from the world's finest producers.

Vivat Bacchus: good selection of cheeses, 3 courses and glass of fizz offer has a mediocre menu - sounds inexpensive but the truth is imo; not great value for money.
A pleasant and friendly atmostphere. Draws an after-work crowd with a tast for good wine and cheese, which is the highlight. Although the food is good and a bit different with an African game twist, I could come just for the cheese room.
We attended a customer commercial late lunch. The comments from colleagues were impressive, great service, friendly, interesting. The food was very tasty and the cheese board (French option) was out of this world. They were particularly impressed with the knowledge and passion of the staff. Only downfall was that as it was late/after the lunch rush the atmosphere was a little lacking or more specifically too quiet. I'm a South African so was very pleased they enjoyed it.
Good lunch. Simple menu. Good top table offer though we declined. Spacious for talking and not noisy. Ate in brasserie. Chicken fricassee very tasty.
