Le Troisième Wine Bar and Restaurant
About Le Troisième Wine Bar and Restaurant
A well kept secret, Le Troisième Wine Bar and Restaurant is hidden in plain sight right in the very centre of London between Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. It’s the ideal city dweller’s stop off, a warmly cosy restaurant but with a buzzy atmosphere and chic look. In fact, it’s not only the French menu that gives Le Troisième a very Parisian feel, but the relaxed service and unaffected styling – brick tiling, vintage touches and wooden tables - that sets it apart from more consciously ‘overdone’ restaurants. A warm glow from large street facing windows invites you in to enjoy a glass of wine from the carefully put together list of French labels, a must before tackling the oh-so-tempting menu. Le Troisième’s food is as Gallic as a careless shrug, featuring all those wonderful favourites from moules to steak et frites. While the a la carte menu may be enjoyed at leisure, accompanied by a bottle of chilled Sancerre, the equally well presented and delicious pre-theatre selection is ideal for those passing through on the way to nearby theatres and cinemas.

Le Troisieme in Panton Street is always a pleasure to visit Saturday lunchtime as it's always quiet, unlike the evenings when it's jumping. A relaxing glass of champagne at the bar and a lunch so reminiscent of good bistro food anywhere in France (except Paris!). Wine is varied and reasonable and service prompt. Will always return.
Efficient service, very good food, friendly staff
This is an excellent venue for pre-theatre dining. We went on a Monday evening at 6pm and to start with were alone in the restaurant and sat upstairs (ground floor) as it was better for the sole person serving. I think the ambience would be better downstairs and also if there were more diners. The food was very good - I loved my chicken liver starter. Would definitely return for a pre-theatre meal.
I tend to avoid eateries in tourist trap type areas on the ground that the restaurants have little incentive to be any good on the ground that the customers won't be coming back plus they tend to be pricey. This is an exception - very reasonable prices, good food and helpful service. It's a little shabby but so what? Just adds to the ambience. Lower mark for the toilets as I'm told the ladies is a little small - I didn't investigate myself being male ...
A warm and cozy bistro. Food was simple yet very tasty. Great value for money.
