La Porte des Indes - London. Very nice food, good portions, excellent service and impressive interior decoration. You don’t feel you are in London, you really feel you are in a coastal Indian town restaurant.

Had lunch here for my husbands birthday, and it was fantastic! We had the taster menu this visit but will definitely be going back to try other dishes.

Dined at La Porte des Indes last night with two others. It is a beautiful location, ambience of greenery and sandalwood. The meal was a pleasure though service was a bit shambolic at times. The food is truly original. We ordered mixed platters of the "indian" and "french" influences platters. We especially liked the duck breast as well as the spicy aubergine. Yummy rice bread and naans....but quite fully priced. You must go to the loos and admire the water feature.

The small doorway takes you through to an enormous restaurant in a lovely old London building, great ambience and great food although not as top notch as we were expecting, we would definitely recommend for a different meal out in London town! Staff were great and service was excellent.
