We were intrigued by the name of the Laughing Gravy. The food was a slightly mixed bag, I had a really delicious salad, but those who had the fish cakes found them rather ordinary. The Truffle chips were a hit. And the wine was really good, we're into our New Zealand wines and the Kiwi waiter introduced us to a fantastic one!

Although The Laughing Gravy in Southwark was quiet on a Tuesday lunchtime, the atmosphere was still laid back and very comfortable. The menu had a good range of options and everything I had was delicious. The salmon and prawn scotch egg was a revelation ! Perfectly crisp on the outside and a runny yolk. The fat chips are also a must have ! A great wine list and good service made for an excellent lunch. £74 including wine and service was good value we thought.
