Savoir Faire
About Savoir Faire
Savoire Faire - rarely has a restaurant been so perfectly named. Fresh food, good wine, mellow atmosphere, satisfied staff, value for money - this traditional French bistro knows how to please and over the past nine years it's perfected the art. The mouthwatering menu reads like that of any major London restaurant - rib eye steak served on a fromage frais pancake with a brandy and mushroom sauce, for example - apart from the prices. Although the menu changes every fortnight, the big sellers such as the traditional French bourguignon and tarte tatin are faithfully there for the savouring, much to the satisfaction of the regulars, many of them celebrities and actors from the local shows and plays.

We dined at Savoir Faire on Monday evening and the restaurant was fairly busy. The food was served promptly and was enjoyable and tasty. We tried the house red wine for the first time and it was fine. Have already booked to go back.
Well, Savoir Faire in Covent Garden wasn't what I expected. Although lunch was fine, we both chose the chicken salad, largely because the alternatives were so limited. Certainly the first time I've seen baguettes on an à la carte menu and apart from these & 3 or 4 salads, there was nothing else that really appealed. The fixed price 2 or 3 course lunch did have a couple more options, but we only had time for one course so........Service friendly, if a little confused. More classy cafe than bistro
another lovely meal at savoir faire. The service was excellent too - I commented to my partner when taking my seat at the table that I had forgotten my reading glasses, the waitress returned a moment later cleaning a pair for me to use, thats what I call service
For an authentic experience of the best in family-run French restaurants, right in the West End, you will not do better than visit (Le Bistro) Savoir Faire at 42 New Oxford Street, London, WC1A 1EP. The prices are very reasonable and there is variety in the menu to suit everyone (meat, fish and vegetarian). The portions are generous and the meal has an honesty that recharges the batteries whether you are tourist, office worker or friends meeting for an occasion. The ambience is relaxing.
Took a business partner to Savoir Faire for dinner. The food was delicious, the service was good and its great value. Would definitely recommend.
