About L'Escargot

Greek Street is probably the heart of Soho and L'Escargot Restaurant is surely the heart of Greek Street, one of London's most fashionable and well-established eateries. The ground floor restaurant, with mirrored walls and work by artists such as Miro and Chagall, buzzes with life and excitement.

Booked L'Escargot for a private dinner after a west end show for Executives and their partners. Excellent food and first-rate service in an ideal location for London’s theatres; the ambience in the Private Room was just right for our dinner.

We attended on a Saturday evening with tables nearly all in full swing. We were shown a lovely table for two and were attended to promptly. The snails were fresh and served perfectly. My wife had seared tuna which was also faultless. The main course of Atlantic cod was well presented, although a touch too salty. Succulent slices of the magret of duck did not disappoint. We finished with a blackberry souffle (a must) and a lemon tart with accompanying sorbet. Service throughout was impeccable

Warm welcome, lovey food, almost as good as ever. One specific waiter not on top form, and it appeared to be a bit of an effort. Rest of staff excellent.

As ever an almost unbeatable pre Theatre treat. Everything here just works, and the grand setting is ideal. Food is unfussy, traditional bistro food and the service is much the same way and as excellent as the foiod. I have been coming here for almost 20 years and don't see any chance of that changing soon.

L'Escargot, London. Some of the food was very pleasing. A rump of lamb was cooked to order and very flavourful. On the other hand, the escargorts were surprisingly undeseasoned by a long chalk. Things are slipping slightly here: a queue to greeted and have coats taken, and the wine order taken by the waiter and not the sommelier.
