Toptable says about Les Trois Garcons

What kind of London restaurant attracts the likes of Liz Hurley, Donatella Versace and Madonna? A genuine one-off. Les Trois Garcons is a handsomely converted pub, easily identified on Bethnal Green Road by its flaming torches. Inside the restaurant is pure theatre, the opulent dining room decor falling over itself with stuffed animals (mais oui, that is a bulldog with fairy wings), sparkly crystal chandeliers and all sorts of antique idiosyncrasies. Les Trois Garcons is a bit like being inside Salvador Dali's brain. The Anglo-French food is equally stunning. Duck breast stuffed with black truffles, cannon of lamb with a curry and chocolate sauce, and halibut with spring pea purée, shimji mushrooms, grapes and tarragon jus taste as exquisite as they look. The beautiful staff deserve praise too, for their warmth and knowledgeable service.

Having been to Les Trois Garcon two years ago and had a thoroughly wonderful evening, we were disappointed on our return visit. It seems this restaurant's popularity has resulted in management cramming additional tables into the space and speeding up service to the point where we felt rushed. The food was still of very quality but at £300 for 3 px (including wine and service) there are better places in London to spend that kind of money.

Les Trois Garcons was fantastic for dinner for our group of 7. All the meals were delicious and the service was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

the place is gorgeous and the staff lovely. my only gripe is that the chef makes the classic mistake made m#by meat eaters cooking for vegetarians of trying to create flavours as strong as meat eaters like. we don't need it, our palates are used to more subtle tastes. as a result the food was beautiful but so rich and strong that for over 40 quid for two courses, I consumed no more than half of my main course. looked great though! and my meat eating companion loved her dish.

Was a little pricey, but we were a group of 8 and had reserved the private room, which was delightful! Food was very nice and the service was great.
