Wine & Bread
About Wine & Bread
Portuguese in everything but location, Wine & Bread has been called the best restaurant of its type in town – not bad when you consider ‘town’ refers to no less than London. A family run café, restaurant and lounge bar in the Hendon area of North West London, Wine & Bread is at once family friendly and extremely grown up, the concept appealing to both daytime diners and late night lounge lizards. Husband and wife team, Marcia and Kadir, bring years of experience in five star hotels and restaurants to their own venture, providing not only a taste and passion for food, but an eye for design and a desire to provide the best possible service and relaxing atmosphere all at once. Mediterranean in flavour, Wine & Bread’s menu is typically Portuguese, recalling the best dishes enjoyed during those balmy summer’s evenings on the Algarve or in languid weekends in Lisbon. A carefully selected, concise wine list includes not only Portuguese grapes but the best of the world’s wine producing regions.

I took a young lady with me who like me is a "foodie", and we had a WONDERFUL Lunch. We were especially spoiled by the Owner who served us and he gave an excellent recommendation on the choice of wine. This Restaurant has no pretensions, it is a simple, clean and extremely well positioned to take any guests through a true Portuguese dining experience. We will CERTAINLY return soon
Visited Wine & Bread (Portugese restaurant in Church Road, Hendon) last night. Just using up the TopTable points we had saved up so wasn't quite sure what to expect. Very pleasantly surprised actually with a simple, rustic restaurant that feels very authentic and which is clearly loved by the local Portugese community. Great service with hot, tasty food and good wine. Give it a try - you might be as surprised as we were!
Our first visit to Wine & Bread was a very pleasant experience. Enjoyed the food, very friendly service and good wine. The restaurant was very quiet on a Saturday lunchtime but that was fine for us as it was a cosey, welcoming environment. Would visit again if in the area.
This was my second visit to Wine & Bread in Hendon. As before, we were warmly greeted and promptly seated. The starters were very good and actually quite filling! Main courses were well cooked, seasoned and delicious- we had the grilled octopus and the grilled squid with prawn. Both of us struggled to finish our mains! Service was friendly and polite throughout. Would go again and definitely recommend.
went for the free toptable deal with my Portuguese girlfriend..not impressed..chorizo in a Yorkshire pudding for starter. Chorizo was good but a yorkshire pudding.. I mean really! come on. chicken main was the offel offcuts...not great..flavour was good. salad boring. very disappointing. Not a nice area luckily I drive and the restaurant empty...guess they need the customers. shame they had some things on the menu that looked interesting, but not on deal. might have come back if it wasn't so mediocre.
