Locale Italian restaurant at London's County Hall is the first stop before or after a flight on the London Eye, a visit to the Aquarium or an aesthetic bliss-out at the South Bank. This bright, relaxed, family-friendly restaurant features Italian home-style cooking. The pale wood floors, tables and chairs, the light walls, and the open kitchen all create a casual ambience. Try a starter of Tuscan Salad with broad beans, faro, Rocket and Pecorino Cheese, pasta course of black tagiolini with crab, garlic, chilli and tomatoes, and dessert of affogato, as well as a selection of pizzas. Locale tempts you further with boutique wines and markedly good coffee.

Locale, County Hall Nice atmospere and very cheeful and accomodating staff. The only comment is they need to work on their food portions, i felt they were too small. On my plate with my salmon I had 3 spring oinions (it said braised leeks on the menu) and 4 pieces of pumpkin, it was not the biggest piece of salmon either. In addition, the spring onions and pumpkin were a little bit greasy too. I guess they expected diners to have starters and desserts??
Locale in County Hall near Waterloo was a decent lunch time meal. Quite pricey but service was decent as was the food
It was quite busy on the Tuesday evening when we ate at Locale in SE1. Having been to this restaurant a number of times, we knew what to expect from the menu which is reassuringly broad and represents good value for money. The service was not as attentive on previous visits but still far from slack. After some antipasti bits and pieces, we each opted for a pizza. Both were slightly undercooked and rather bland which was a shame. Maybe it was just an off night as the food has generally been pretty good in the past. It will not put me off going again or recommending Locale but next time, I might stick to the pasta or carne dishes.
Impressed with food and staff. All four enjoyed their meal and it was no problem that 2 arrived late. The chicken went down particularly well. Also, little thing, but especially for people in a rush to get to theatre, having button on table to attract attention and ask for bill keeps things calm.
Went to the Locale at County Hall on a Tuesday in the middle of January and was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was, which made a nice atmosphere. We had a lovely drink in the bar first, which was during Happy Hour and we saw the different cocktails being prepared. In the restaurant, we had a nice table and didn't feel at all rushed and the waiter was very attentive each time we pressed the buzzer to call him over. Lovely food, especially the Tiramisu. Will return. Highly recommended.
