Another very good meal at the Lord's Tavern. Three of us all had different starters and main courses and agreed that they were all excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful. My only quibble is that, while most of the food is not too pricey, £8.50 is a lot of money for a fairly small portion of cheese and biscuits.
We went on a busy Sunday afternoon and unfortunately some of the staff was off sick but otherwise very lovely atmosphere and good fooed, albeit a bit on the price side but for where it is, it is to be expected. If we come back to that area would definitely come back to the Lord Tavern.
A very enjoyable meal at the Lord's Tavern. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were seven of us ranging in age from 8 to 94 and we all had a good time. The menu is straightforward and there is a children's menu as well. The food was very good and the prices are reasonable (especially as I get a 10% discount as a member of the MCC!)
The new interior in Lords is plush, luxurious & relaxing. The food was standard gastro pub fare: attempting to be sophisticated with dishes like pear & goats cheese salad, but fell short with only 3 or 4 tiny pieces of cheese in a mess of leaves. Burger was delicious & beautifully presented on a wooden board. Partners ravioli was ok. £15 for 2 courses that left us hungry was not good value. Would recommend Lord's Tavern in St John's Wood for a drink, more so than for a meal.
The Lords Tavern needs to decide whether it is a serious gastropub with regard for its customers, or a drinking hole for screeching banshees. Secondly, one of the two orders of fish & chips should NEVER have left the kitchen, it was so bad (they did not charge for it). Finally, why no medium-rare burgers? Are they not confident of the freshness of their meat or their storage facitiies? What could have been a VERY pleasant meal was utterly ruined by these three things. We could not wait to leave!
