Toptable says about Lotus Floating Restaurant

Located on the Inner Milwall Dock on the Isle of Dogs, the cavernous Lotus Chinese Floating Restaurant, lit up with neon lights at night, is a popular spot for parties and family nights out. Spread out over two different decks, The Lotus Chinese Floating Restaurant is located across the way from the Crossharbour DLR stop making it easily accessible for locals and Canary Wharf workers, and the buzzy interior is decorated with dark wooden chairs, bright red menus and plush patterned carpets. The menu includes a host of Chinese favourites including the scallops steamed in lotus leaves, the roasted Peking duck pancakes, and the bite-sized sweet and sour pork, and the restaurant can cater for large events and banquets.

The Lotus Chinese Floating Restaurant has excellent food and although a little expensive for a set meal per head was served well and in a timely fashion.

Lotus Chinese Floating restaurant: We ordered so much dimsum that we never managed to finish and ended up a taking 3 boxes away with us yet still only paid 15 pounds a head. The quality of everything we ate was excellent, with some interesting cheung fun dishes. To top it all it was a sunny winter day, so the location on the water was much appreciated in spite of it being not so easy to get to from other parts of London.

Food was good and the portions were generous. The staff were attentive and asked us several times if everything was OK. Great location, although the decor was not as great as it could have been.
