Zizzi - Holborn

About Zizzi - Holborn

Italian restaurant chain Zizzi opened the doors of its very first branch in London's Chiswick in 1999. Now there are over 100 branches, all decorated in an appealing contemporary style. Wood-fired ovens, open kitchens and modern interior design with locally influenced art features make for a vibrant atmosphere. As for the food, they serve up a variety of traditional Italian dishes including all the usual suspects: salads, antipasti, pasta, pizza, calzone, risotto as well as fish and meat mains and desserts. What Zizzi really pride themselves on is sourcing good quality ingredients; salads are dressed with white balsamic vinegar from Modena, for example, and offer Goddess Olives, a variety known for their firm flesh and nutty flavour. The modestly priced wine list is dominated by Italian wines, starting at £13.45 for a Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. The Bow Street branch is nestled right in the heart of London's bustling Covent Garden, where its handy location delights shoppers and theatre-goers alike.

Zizzi Holborn offers great food, quickly served in an ideal location for theatre goers. With the great deals that are always available on line it really is great value for money - my girlfriend and I had two courses each and a bottle of wine and the bill came to £35 - a perfect start to the evening which was made complete after watching the hilarious James Corden in One Man Two Guvnors.

Zizzi, Holborn - normally you cant really go wrong with a Zizzi, however unfortunately this is now the 2nd time in a row that I have had a bad experience. They tried to sit us, a group of 5, onto a table of 4 which was not comfortable (a very unsympathetic waitress to top it off). We were asked about drinks 15 mins after sitting down, and to make things worse the one standard dish you would think would always be in stock - lasagne - was out! Not the best of evenings.

We enjoyed our supper at Zizzi's immensely. Excellent value for straight forward italian food. A bit noisy so not the venue for chatting easily. Our waitress was excellent - patient and helpful. Will definitely go there again.

We went to Zizzi in Holburn before seeing a show - it was the perfect venue. The service was very quick and the food was delicious. This is the second time I've eaten here and the staff are always very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
