Maharani

About Maharani

Set in the heart of the West End, Maharani – which means ‘Queen’ in Hindi – is certainly a jewel in the crown of the Soho dining scene. Inside, wooden floors, shades of burnt orange, and crisp white linen make for a stylish but unpretentious atmosphere. The menu will satisfy even the most demanding of diners, with an extensive selection of traditional Indian dishes, vegetarian options, regional specialties and tandoori dishes cooked in their authentic clay oven. We love their haleem – a dish of lamb, mixed lentils, barley and whole spices cooked overnight to create a unique taste and texture. Friendly service and a good range of wine and beers make Maharani a great choice for meals with friends and colleagues alike.

Maharani 77 Berwick st, London W1 We were a group of 12 ,mainly French people for a post-theatre dinner. The table was still waiting, even though we arrived late, warm, friendly welcome. The food was delicious, huge amounts, we were given excellent advice on choice of dishes. The chicken curries fantastic and the black lentil dhals to die for! Goan fish curry flavours lovely, though fish a little dry. Excellent value for money! Will definitely come back and recommend this to friends.

We went to Maharani on a saturday night before a show. Located on a sidestreet in Soho, this little Gem offers unusual dishes and excellent service. We were very impressed by the menu here. While offering the usual recognisable indian curries, there was also a selection of house specialties that I had never previously heard of. Overall, I would say the food is less oily that your average curry house, with far more interesting food. We would happily recommend this one!

Had another great meal at Maharani on Berwick Street. A great combination of typical Indian restaurant hospitality and non-typical Indian restaurant dishes. It's a really interesting menu.

13 of us went here last night for a work dinner. The food was brilliant, huge portions! The food took a while to come because we were such a big group but it was definitely worth the wait. Great value.
