Little India
About Little India
Craving curry in Kensington? Just head for local favourite Little India. This stylish but unpretentious restaurant on Gloucester Road is well known for its friendly staff and home-style Indian cooking. Situated close to the Royal Albert Hall and Hyde Park, it’s perfect for a post-shopping lunch or an early evening meal with friends. The chefs prepare familiar favourites like lamb pasanda and chicken jalfezi using authentic spices and traditional recipes so you can be sure they taste just as they would in India. We love their tandoori mixed grill and their signature dish – Naga Chicken, a dry dish cooked with fragrant spices and naga chillies for an extra kick. With flavours this fresh, we know you’ll be back for more!

Bog standard curry house, but quit a good one with a warm atmosphere.
Little India at Kensington had nice ambience, friendly staff and food was well presented. I really enjoyed the mango lassi, tandoori fish and naan, but the other foods seemed drowned in oil and servings were not very big.
A bit hit and miss. We visited Little India in Gloucester Road, London on a Sunday. We arrived at 12:30 and were the only people there for about hour. I had the "House Speciality" Lamb Pasanda and found it very disappointing. The pieces of lamb were very small and there was far too much sauce compared to the amount of meat. I was warned it was a very mild dish but my portion didn't even have a hint of spice. However the Tandori Mixed Grill and the Sag Aloo were very good.
Despite the map giving the illusion of a long walk, the restaurant is very close to Goucester Tube and also Royal Albert Hall. The restaurant is tiny, it was warm and welcoming. Service was excellent (they poured the wine, water, tidied the table etc but they did speed us through and attempt to take away plates before we were even ready and served our main before we were ready so I think they need to slow down a bit, we felt rushed. Food was delicious, fresh, wine was very good value.
Little India in South Kensington is a lovely, stylish Indian restaurant. I ate there recently with friends and family and all the meals were very tasty and there was a good mix of traditional and contemporary dishes, both at very reasonable prices.
