Koh-I-Noor Restaurant
About Koh-I-Noor Restaurant
A short meander from the riverbank on London's Wapping High Street is modern Indian restaurant Koh-I-Noor. Appropriately named after the famed diamond once the property of Indian Rajahs, now a part of the Crown Jewels just half a mile away in the Tower of London, Koh-I-Noor is stylishly simple, offering sparkling Indian flavour in a very British setting. Koh-I-Noor is a real favourite of local office workers due to its convenient location and its efficient, fuss-free service and provides an excellent, affordable alternative to pricy West End dining within easy reach of sights including the Design Museum and St Katharine Docks. From tandoori specialties, prepared and cooked with tradition firmly in mind, to less often seen dishes including excellent fish and vegetarian options, Koh-I-Noor's menu is extensive without being exhaustive. Of note are Koh-I-Noor's specialty breads, which go far beyond the usual offerings with contemporary and traditional recipes put to use.

Really impressed with our first visit to Koh-I-Noor. Lovely food and impressive service. Great to have such a good curry house so locally. Would recommend.
A warm welcome, cold beer and excellent food all at a very reasonable price. This gem is worth seeking out; I would highly recommend this excellent family run restaurant to anyone who values top quality Indian food.
We went to Koh-I-Noor on wapping high street on a drizzly tuesday night. The service was impeccable throughout our visit - friendly and informative staff. The food was very good - the only trouble being we couldn't finish it all. An additional feature worth mentioning is that it has a lovely view across the river and they make the most of it with a round restaurant covered in glass! Will definitely be back.
This is the second time my wife and I have visited Koh-I-Noor in Wapping. The first was shortly after they had opened when they had no drinks license or card payment facilities. Both of these issues have now been sorted and I'm glad we made the return visit. The menu is reletivly simple but the food is delicious. The dumpings(starter), lamb curry and chicken Karahi are all recommended. The wine list was ok and the service was excellent.
We had another enjoyable visit to Koh-I-Noor in Wapping last night. The staff were very accomodating particularly to our children. The Tandoor mixed grill and Butter Chicken were both very nice.
