Maroush 1, near Hyde Park - really great overall. Food was delicious! We ordered a mix of hot and cold mezze and all were very tasty and filling. On arrival, we were brought a bowl of vegetables, which were nice and fresh, plus some lovely olives. Service was excellent - very friendly, efficient and warm. Unfortunately they were out of all desserts but brought us a bowl of fresh fruit and a plate of baklava for free merely on the request for a dessert menu - nice touch. No complaints.
Maroush 1, London - We arrived at 7pm and were told that the main restaurant opens at 7.30pm and so waited in the bar/upstairs seating area. Once we were shown to our table in the main restaurant the service was friendly and fast....well we would have been surprised it is wasnt ,as we the only customers in the resatuarant on the random Wednesday eve! On the whole the service, food and cleanliness were all very good! I think with the live music - The ambience would be be brilliant on the weekend
Maroush 1, Edgware Road, London Lebanese cuisine - lots of grills, kebabs and meat dishes. The food was very good and came in very generous proportions. Well priced. The touch of class was the on the house dessert offered to all customers. This included a large fresh fruit platter and a generous helping of baklava (traditional Arabic sweet). Belly dancer and music included! Very loud when music playing and no chance of having a conversation. Not the best place for a romantic dinner.
Good value for money food... simple ambiance but the food is good for a quick lunch before/after a shopping spree on bond street or a walk around hyde park. though its confusing as there were at least 5-6 restaurants called maroush on the same block!!!
Was aggrieved to be told that we had to order a set menu as there were 9 of us and their kitchen cannot cope with individual orders for such a number. This was really surprising given the size of Maroush1 and it was also half full. This was not stated when the reservation was made nor when the restaurant called me on the morning of the booking to confirm the reservation. The set menu was priced at £35 and given there were a number of people who did not want a full 3 course meal - felt conned!
