Dinner at Chawol was much as one would expect of an Indian restaurant in London with the added bonus that there weren't too many diners so it was easy to hear the conversation. The service was pleasant and the prices reasonable. The dessert's could do with more Indian dessert options but may be they just serve what is popular with their customers.

We had a great meal at Chawol. All dishes were well received by our group of 11. We were there on a Monday night, so the place wasquite well suited for chatting. Highly recommend the restaurant to those who would like to taste indian food with "attitude". One of the best indian food I had ever had,

Last night at Charwol in Clerkenwell. Place was empty at nine but started filling. Very friendly and obliging staff. Food was great. Usual fare but slightly different. For instance the staple chick tik masala was not a lurid pink, orange or red but a hearty gravy coloured brown. Shocker ! The tarka dhal splendid. All was v. Fresh and I had a doggy bag to go.

Chawol in Clerkenwell Road. The lunchtime buffet at £6.95 offers good value for money with a variety of dishes on offer. Unfortunately all of the hot dishes were left uncovered throughout the time we were there which meant that most of the food was lukewarm.
