About Medcalf
Medcalf is an award-winning, independent bar and restaurant situated in a converted turn of the century butchers shop in London’s bustling Exmouth Market. The buzzy Clerkenwell address combined with the artsy décor and moreish menu have made this a popular lunch destination for media execs, and a busy evening destination for local couples and a fashionable after-work crowd. Cosy leather armchairs, candles and elegant artworks give the dining room a cosy home-away-from-home feel, and the simple and inspired cooking here showcases the very best produce from throughout the United Kingdom - often organic, always seasonal. The robust menu changes daily and has a distinctly British theme with modern European influences. Medcalf is staunchly independent and consistently seeks new and interesting quality wines and beers from throughout Europe. Service is attentive although informal thanks to our friendly and knowledgeable staff who contribute to the unique and relaxed vibe of the restaurant.

We had a very pleasant lunch at Medcalf. The food was extremely well cooked -- the special deal of two small plates and a glass of house wine is not bad value but in general I think the pricing is a little too high. Very good service.
A great location for an informal business meeting over lunch
Medcalf is on the lively Exmouth Market in London. Food is great, albeit pretty limited choice for veggies. Good, short, wine list. Huge pork chop was perfectly cooked, but a little bit of a struggle with a bluntish table knife. Attentive service, but the do leave you in peace to chat.
We had a nice dinner at Medcalf, London. We had the pie and bavette steak, both were very nice and the price was fairly reasonable. The cheescake was excellent. Only critisicm would be he wine menu could be a bit more extensive
This was a pleasant evening, good menu choices and we got a free dessert as we had to be moved. Would go again.
