Cucina Restaurant
About Cucina Restaurant
It’s all about location here at Cucina, a fabulous Italian restaurant so close to the London Eye and County Hall you can practically smell the pizza from 135 metres up above the Thames. Appropriately designed for its setting, Cucina is far less rustic than its name might suggest. Indeed the deep, masculine tones of the interior with its high stacked built-in wine racks, moody photographic prints and comfortable patio brings to mind a meeting of British gentlemen’s club and slick Roman hotel restaurant. Created to appeal to the many different types of diner who find themselves on the South Bank; from the tourists taking a meander to the pre-theatre diners heading to the Royal Festival Hall, local Londoners with kids in tow to businessmen fresh from the Shell centre or en route to Waterloo, Cucina has a relaxed, amenable atmosphere and welcoming service. Traditionally Italian, Cucina’s menu is an affordable way to enjoy authentic pizza and pasta dishes as well as modern Mediterranean dishes. Lunchtimes see Cucina especially popular with its simple, tasty paninis, jackets and omelettes flying out of the kitchen.

Not the greatest, in any category (food was uninspiring, they had given our table to someone else, not fantastic value) but a pleasant evening.
Enjoyed having dinner at Cucina near Waterloo. Food was good, service was friendly and it was reasonably priced. Would recommend for a relaxed evening meal.
Went there for a quick team lunch before a team building exercise on the Thames. Great location and food was lovely, had the Haloumi Salad which was delicious Nothing special but would probably return due to its location and quick service
I visited Cucina Restaurant in London on Valentines day as it's tucked away, there wasn't many people and provided an intimate setting. The restaurant is located very near to the London Eye (>5 min walk). The decorations are very "mafia" style with pictures of famous film gangsters and the music also goes well with this. The food was good and priced very well.
Cucina in Waterloo has a really friendly atmosphere both for a date or a night out with friends. The food is really great comfort fare (I'd definitely recommend the mixed starters) at really good value for the location (1 minute from the London Eye!).
