About Ganapati

Ganapati Restaurant is a bright, modern and colourful south Indian eatery in south London that greets each guest with an aromatic and fragrant welcome. The owners of Ganapati Restaurant believe that the kitchen is the soul of a restaurant as it is of a home, providing warmth, nourishment and evocative smells. An air of expectancy surrounds the kitchen as the work of the day begins here, and the owner Claire Fisher is passionate about authentic south Indian food. After spending time working in Keralan kitchens alongside mothers, sisters and grandmothers and learning tricks of the trade, Fisher returned to London and brought Keralan cooking to this corner of Peckham in 2004. Showered with critical acclaim from the likes of ELLE Decoration, Harper’s BAZAAR and the Guardian, Ganapati Restaurant provides a fantastic local London dining experience and is a stylish little Peckham gem.

I really do like this place, the food is so fresh & the service is friendly & informative. I do think the deserts could be better & would prefer to not share a table as a couple but otherwise superb.

Yet another great meal at Ganapati in sunny Peckham. sadly their great lunch menu is not available at the weekend so a quick pit stop with my husband and his sister turned into a very expensive snack. Surely the lunch menu should be served during the lunchtime openeing? Howvever food was and is still fresh, flavoursome and fantastic, not to be missed if you have not been. Service and ambience excellent.

Ganapati might be hidden away , but well worth finding and less than 5 mins from Pekham Rye station. Great food , attractively served. Small and lively without being impossibly noisy.

The restaurant wasn't anything special in terms of decor or furnishings but had good tasty authentic Indian food. It was also busy even on a Tuesday night. Would eat there again and liked that they had some mini versions of food such as dosas and thalis so you could try a variety of different things.
