Davy's at Woolgate
About Davy's at Woolgate
A short meander from Bank and Moorgate, Davy’s at Woolgate Bar and Brasserie is among the preferred restaurants of selective city folk. Part of a tried and trusted brand, this branch of Davy’s follows the well trodden wine path, providing its visitors with a journey through the world of the vine through a collection of carefully selected bottles from the professionals of the celebrated and historic wine merchants company. Sleek and elegant with a slightly masculine décor, Davy’s at Woolgate is very much in keeping with the local area, providing the perfect setting for business lunches and after work wind downs. A vast terrace provides a rare opportunity for al fresco dining in the Square Mile, making it even more imperative to book ahead during the summer months. Though Davy’s is very much centred around wine, the food menu certainly hasn’t been neglected, the kitchen offering a varied and enticing selection of brasserie and pub style dishes including well done international dishes and glorious steaks, burgers and roasts. Breakfasts are equally tempting, accompanied by high quality freshly ground coffees.

Had a great lunch! Fish and chips on a Friday with a glass of bubbles!! Well recommended by a very friendly waitor! Fab atmosphere just a shame we had to go back to the office!! Will be back!!
Great food and great service - well recommend
7 of us went to Davy's at Woolgate at lunchtime on 17th April 2012 and we had a nice table by the window. There was a longer wait than expected between starters and main course but the food was tasty and the waiting staff were great. Maybe better for an evening meal given some people's time contraints at lunch.
Booked Davy's for a quick work lunch but it proved to be anything but. The food was fine but we still hadn't received our starter 45 minutes after sitting down and I had to leave colleagues to pay while I dashed to catch a train after wolfing down my main, fully 90 minutes after arriving. My advice - make sure you reserve a table upstairs as the basement seemed to be not a priority
Very nice place, but quite expensive.
