Jump on the north bound Bakerloo line from Oxford Circus and in less than 20 minutes you will find yourself in the peaceful haven that is Queen's Park.
The park itself is a beautiful place to relax. It boasts an excellent café, a bandstand, a pitch and putt course, tennis courts, kids’ play areas, a paddling pool and even a miniature "farm" with goats, rabbits and ducks.
Most of the shops and eateries are clustered around Salusbury Road. The Salusbury Pub & Dining Room is a lively gastro pub, where drinkers spill out onto the pavement in the summer months. Salusbury Foodstore next door sells delicious salads and pizza slices, perfect to take away and eat in the park. Just across the road, Baker & Spice displays gorgeous bread and cakes.
Every Sunday (10am - 2pm) you’ll find a farmers' market in the grounds of Salusbury Primary School, offering everything from organic vegetables to home-made chutney.
Turn down Lonsdale Road and you’ll discover Hugo's organic restaurant and bar, which resembles a Mediterranean café with outside tables and sunshades. Take a seat and watch the world go by!
