not a great fan of this downmarket radison chain but this one was ok. Had a business meeting there which lasted three days so stayed their for 2 nights. The place is a huge souless affair but the bedroom was fine - they even have smoking rooms, and clean. The environs are not much to write home about but it is near to the airport which is the main thing. The staff were pleasant and keen to help and the food was surprisingly good - they seem to do themed buffets for dinner. All on all if you need to be within spitting distance of LHR this would appear to be as good a place as anywhere.

Recommended as a one-night stopover, had the economy room which for £100 inc breakfast was good value for the location. Room simply furnished, but clean with very comfortable bed, and just the right temperature. Also much quieter than I expected, only heard one plane taking off. Plenty of choice for breakfast.

We booked this hotel through a booking agent with 15 days parking. The offer was a mystery 4 star hotel for a very good price. We were very pleased with this offer.

On arrival we drove round and round the car park which was quite large and could not find a parking space anywhere. There were notices every where saying that if you did not park in a designated space your car would incurr a fine. Cars were parked on grass verges, pavements, squashed in any and every available space. After driving round for aprroximately 20 minutes my husband eventually found a space, but not a designated one, were he hoped the car would be safe to leave for 15 days. Check in was very slow and when we eventually got to reception we asked about the parking situatiion. The receptionist told us that there was a conference on and there would be ample spaces later in the evening and we would be able to move the car. My husband went out twice during the evening but the situation had not improved so he left the car were it was and hoped for the best. There were no spaces in the morning either so we had no choice but to leave it were it was. When we got back 15 days later the car park situation had not changed. Luckily we had not been fined for parking incorrectly.

This hotel should not be offering stay and park when they clearly do not have enough spaces for everyone that wishes to to take up this service. When we returned I had to obtain a ticket to get out of the carpark because the barrier was up when we arrived and I had no ticket. This entailed a 15 minute wait while people in front of me checked in. Only two members of staff on the desk for the first 10 minutes then a third arrived.

This, and the ridiculous price for breakfast £18 for continental and more for any other type, however is the only complaint that we have. The room was clean, the bed comfortable, the towels crisp and clean, when we asked for extra pillows there was no problem. No aircraft noise, very well insulated.

We, like other guests found the local take away and convenience store just down the road and used those for our meals.

Would I recommend this hotel, yes if I did not have a car to park. Close to the airport 5 minutes on the Hoppa bus £16 return for two

Stayed here Nov 4th 2009 when meeting colleagues for business. Its a huge property but they still manage somehow to keep it personal, nicely located for Heathrow if you have an early flight, got given a family room and appreciated the extra space. Didnt have dinner but the breakfast was brilliantly organised with anything and everything you could possibly imagine, as well as some far eastern bits and bobs because Thai airline room their staff there. Overall for a big property they do it very well.

I would stay here again for a lay over. It was great. We stayed here before flying to Cairo for one night. It's a very busy hotel. It has a pool, a shop and a fair restaurant. I liked that flight screens were in the lobby so you could see arrivals and departures. The room was like something for battery hens, but it was clean and had all we needed.

In the middle of the night we did here a lot of clock alarms going off,but hey flights are 24 hours. We had to be up at 06am ourselves.

Compared to the Thistle it's a paradise!
