I said everything in the title...it' s the worst hotel I've ever seen (and I've travelled a lot). With an incredibly tiny bathroom, the first room we had was also incredibily dirty (we preferred to sleep with our jackets instead of the quilt...) and at the fifth floor (without lift). We asked for another one, and we had another not so clean room, but a little larger, on the second floor. The people at the reception was also quite arrogant (at the beginning he didn't want to carry our luggage from the first room to the second because there wasn't the lift and it was too difficult for him...and for us?!?) and asked us 2 pounds to hold our luggage after the check-out for 4 hours.

We had booked to stay at the Hotel Lidos, which from the reception area looked clean and OK for that price. But we were told we would be staying across the road at the Park.

There was a strange smell, possibly damp, as soon as entered.

The room was on the third floor - no lift - and when we got there we found the tiniest room imaginable.

We had booked twin beds, but this room had a double.

The bed had not been made, the dirty coffee cups were still there and that was just the start.

The en-suite shower just about had enough room for that a toilet and a basin. No hot water to the basin by the way.

The curtain did not pull across and had been jammed behind the open window to let some light into the room. There were cracks around the frame ( see photo)

Best of all, you had to climb across the double bed to get to the far side.

Good points? The towels and bed linen were clean when we returned at night.

A horrible place

I had booked a room for 5 nights for one adult and one child. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told they only had a reservation for one person and they did not have a room to accomadate us until the next day (I showed them my written confirmation - but that didn't matter). We were sent to another hotel for the first night that cost us $160. The next morning we went back to our original hotel and were asked to pay $160 more to give us the double room. When we went to the "very nice" room, we could not believe the filth we encoutered. There was a white stain on one of the comforters, stains on both mattresses, mold on the bedroom ceiling, the original "white" window sill was black from mold, the bathroom had mold everywhere, including the toilet roll holder, the shower, around the faucet, the ventilation fan in the window was encapsulated in mold, I could go on and on. I took pictures as no one would believe hotels are in business and get away with being advertised as a hotel with these conditions. I knew from other reviews that the rooms and bathroom were tiny, so I didn't expect the Hilton. But nowhere in my wildest dream have I ever encountered such a gross hotel room. There was mold in the jelly when we had breakfast in the morning. I think they only make your beds (w/o washing) and maybe give you new towels, but that is it - i would recommend to wear shoes at all times. I paid $64 per night and even if this stay would have been free I would never recommend the Park Hotel to anybody. I have contacted my booking company and told them about the hotel conditions, requested a price adjustment and asked them to take this hotel out of their website. One can only pray not to have such an experience. I'm thankful I am not allergic to mold, that could have been fatal. Never, Never, stay in this rat hole!!!!! Run, and book somewhere else.

I was very happy with my tatty, small room and its view of a wall. It was clean, quiet, safe and had a (tiny) en-suite. To expect any more than this at these prices in central London is ridiculous.

May I suggest to some of the critics that they may also want to avoid the McDonalds restaurant chain, which has a dismal lack of Fois-Gras or quality Chablis on their menu. You get what you pay for.
