Great b&b with a charming host in Margaret.

Stayed here for two nights in September. Very comfortable well appointed room in a very nice property.

Quiet and private but minutes from both Kensington and Knightsbridge.

Highly recommended.

Booked this from reading Sawdays, as the top floor room in quiet square sounded ideal for a stay where I really needed a quiet place as I was working

Location is fab - close to tube and quiet square.

Main problem with the stay was that I was expecting (via AS web and houses own web) the top floor. When I arrived I was told I was downstairs and when I said I was expecting the top floor was told that there was a family and children staying in that the next night so my room had been changed

The downstairs room was great in terms of size and facilities - great sized bed and huge bath with TV on wall(!) and power shower. Breakfast was great and the hostess very flexible with times (7am both days) However the room was in the basement with no view - it was a bit 'tomb like' There was noise from overhead - which was the main reason I wanted and booked a top floor room!

There was an intermittent hum from something - air con? - which disturbed my sleep.

There was no lock on the door which I didnt like, especially where there were other guests

There was no offer or discussion of a discount for the change of room and I was not advised of it until I arrived which meant I was limited for options

If you are happy with a basement room and no lock then for the price this is a good bet - I felt a bit misled and wouldnt stay again - I do think that the possibility you might not get what you think you are booking should be mentioned prior to booking.

Staying at 37 Trevor Square is effectively like staying in someone’s home in London. That is because that is what it is! The hotel/guesthouse has just a few rooms which are comfortably furnished and private (with no real interference from the owner). After a comfortable night’s stay you a welcomed to a full wholesome breakfast (full English if required). I had a pleasant bedroom with a lovely bathroom where I could soak and unwind on route home from a business trip abroad. I found it a welcome change from an impersonal hotel and the cost for London was more than reasonable, particularly for a Knightsbridge location. All in all a lovely find. Don’t be disappointed though as I understand that it often gets booked up.

Accomodation is a queen size bed in a comfy and nicely fitted room with large built-in closets and a host of books, TV and fridge with "help your self drinks", on third floor with a nice window overlooking the small rectangular "square", a 2 minute walk to face Harrods, the tube, buses etc, there is another room on the 3rd floor with two single beds, also comfy, bit of a hike up stairs with cases, Margaret is very open and friendly with no pretensions , breakfast is lovely and she is a fountain of knowledge on anything British or London itself, sort of missed the activity of a hotel and if Margaret was out it was quiet in a way since the two rooms on the 3rd floor are her only rentals,at this price there are alternatives so do your homework if you want, personally I prefer to stay in the Piccadilly or St James area where there are some excellent choices in an absolutely central area, you do the research though, as I did over the years...good luck !
