I chose this hotel for its big rooms, good for family. I made my booking for room 11 in April. When we arrived at the hotel with my family the night of our stay (in July) the only welcome we faced was a rude "come in" and an unsmiling face from the front desk lady. The real disaster was that there were other people already staying in room 11 and we needed to stay at another room. I showed the print-outs of the e-mail confirmation of my booking but she said that room 11 was actually booked for other people at the date I had got e-mail confirmation and she could do nothing now. We had no chance but stay in the room they gave. I asked for some discount to compensate the mistake they made but I was refused with no explanation.

Everything was old and unpleasant and I felt that the hotel was not excepting a second time visit from anybody. It was an embarrassing spot in the nice west end London. I even snapped a photo of a door in the corridor stopped by placing an old shoe under the door leaf. I advise that nobody stays in this hotel until it gets renovated and the management changes someday.

I dont like to write and complain but i need to. This hotel needs a good clean, a good makeover and just a fresh start. Good location. Some classy hotels on the same street, this hotel has great potential ! shame its in a dingy state at the minute.

I would rather not visit london if i had to stay here again. I need to feel clean and fresh after a shower, i didnt want to walk on the carpet!

Sorry.

We booked this hotel as we needed a family room for five in central London, close to Oxford Street etc..

Our room on the third floor was large and at the rear of the building which is quiet, there is no lift in the hotel. The room had a double and three single beds in it which was quite cramped but manageable. Decor etc is certainly in need of refurbishment and updating but we felt the rate we got for five of us in a large room in central London was very reasonable. The room had a fridge and a large table fan which was really needed in the heatwave in July.

Breakfast was fine with a reasonable selection from the buffet and hot food served to order by the staff. The dining room is small but this is a small hotel, more like a B&B. The foreign staff were polite and efficient.

The lady at the front desk was always friendly and helpful.

This is not luxury and it needs to be redecorated and refitted but if you want a clean, basic room right in central London at a reasonable price this is worth considering.

The staff at this hotel is to be commended! The young man who runs the hotel is very kind, courteous and helpful. Genuinely nice. The location can't be beat..
