Only use the car park if you want to replace your window!!
On arriving at the hotel, we seen a car being driven behind the hotel to the staff parking with a smashed window. We checked in and paid our £16 for the 2 days parking. after being directed to the car park, we arrived there and noticed lots of piles of glass across it. Having no where else to park, we took everything out of the car and walked back to the hotel. As we exited the car park, Autoglass were parked along side of it, getting the hoover out and obviously going to repair a broken window.
When we checked out we went to get the car.......the passenger window had been smashed and the glove box was open! I reported it to the hotel and she advised 'it's your responsibility'. I informed her that on booking I asked if it had secure parking and I was told there was, she told me this was a mistake. She didn't seem shocked at all that this had happened and just left us to our own devices to sort out.
In general the hotel was ok, not overly clean and decor very old. Is a good location for Wembley and the tube is about 10-15 minute walk.
I would not stay at this hotel again, mainly because the staff did nothing to help us get something sorted for our journey home. We'd paid to park there and they quite obviously were aware that this was a regular thing and are not advising people that this could happen.
Perfect location
Have just returned from a night stay at the Ibis Wembley, as we went to the Wembley Arena. The hotel is perfectly placed, within five minutes walk. Our room had a great view over Wembley Stadium. It is eerie to see it in the morning, quiet with nobody around. It is stereo-typical of Ibis hotels everywhere. Clean, simple rooms and a good breakfast buffet. The only criticism was the lack of staff in the bar area. They seemed rather overwelmed when everybody suddenly arrived after the concert had finished, gasping for drinks!
Would stay again.
Great cost effective stay near Wembley Arena
If you're after a reasonably priced (£45) room after a concert or event at Wembley then the Ibis is the place for you! We stayed after the Fleetwood Mac concert on Halloween night. Booking-in took for ever and an age and the queue stretched outside - they need to review this practice, especially when there is an event on, or at least draft in some more staff. Anyway we got booked in ok and stayed on the 11th floor! Fortunately there is a lift. Room ok, basic but got everything you would need, tv, tea making facilities, bathroom - which seems to be a large all-in-one plastic capsule but ok to use, nice large power shower, loo and basin with lots of space to put stuff out on and hooks for your clothes. Bed very comfy but duvet very thin but warm enough. One thin pillow per person but a spare in the wardrobe. Didn't hear next door at all, so walls nice and thick! We recommend the Alisan chinese restaurant for dinner near the entrance to the Arena, they do a wicked set menu for £22 and it was the best chinese we've had for a long while, service is quick and they are aware of the concert start time! We noticed there was a bar area so after the concert instead of going into a London boozer we marched back to the hotel. Unfortunately the queue was even worse than when we booked in! As it was Halloween night plenty of horror bits and pieces put up and staff in costumes which was fun. Eventually got served but no coffee as the machine had broken. Some people wanted pizza but they had run out. Anyway, had some beers, but then there was nowhere to sit as everyone sitting around watching Match of the Day with no drinks so had to stand and gulp them down. Good nights sleep. Breakfast is well worth buying at £5.50, the coffee from the machines is excellent and we had a leisurely breakfast. We checked out at midday, no hassle no rush. Staff are very friendly just a shame there isn't more of them. Hotel is situated very near the rail line into Marylebone (but didn't hear it at all) so we popped into Central London to the 3D IMAX cinema - which I love to visit when in London.
Fantastic location
Travelling to the IBIS could not be easier is you're using the Chiltern line.....the hotel is directly opposite the exit at Wembley Stadium Station. I was at a conference at Wembley Stadium which is just a 5 minute walk from the Hotel so the location for me was perfect.
As there were quite a few delegates staying at the hotel, check in was a bit of pain but the staff worked as fast as they could and remained polite. Reception area is a bit drab and underwhelming. I noticed another traveller had mentioned a strange smell in the reception area. It’s not overpowering but there is definitely an odd smell.
Room rates are very reasonable for what are basic but comfortable rooms with a good shower. The room and bedding were clean but the carpet was very badly stained and could definitely have done with replacing some time ago.
Breakfast was basic but good quality and the machines produced excellent coffee. At £5.50 a head, I thought it was good value
If you want a peaceful good night’s sleep at low cost, the IBIS is ideal and I would happily stay there again.
Great value and location
Stayed at this hotel on halloween to see the Fleetwood Mac gig in Wembley Arena which is only a 100 yards or so up the road. Some of the staff were dressed in ghoulish make up but this was the only horror to report about the hotel! Ibis is in a great location in relation to it being only a 10 minute walk to Wembley Central tube station for the Bakerloo line which we travelled on from Paddington.
The rooms were very comfortable and up to the usual Ibis standard with tea & coffee making facilities. The only fault with the room was that the air conditioning veered between cool (which we needed as the weather was very mild) and slightly too warm. This was only a minor inconvenience though as the window can be opened a few inches to allow some air into the room.
Booked the room in advance on line and for two rooms, my wife and myself in one and a friend in another the total cost was £90.00, excellent value. Continental Breakfast was good value at £5.50 and tasty and the drinks in the bar were very good value and not London prices at all.
The area near the hotel was great for eating and drinking, we found a great pub called Thirsty Eddy's in Wembley High Road, again with very reasonable drinks prices and Shameen's tandoori just accross the road from the hotel was great for a post gig curry.
Great experience at Ibis and will definitely stay there again on next visit to Wembley.
