The travelodge was good for convieniece and was on the special rate of L19. It is in the town centre, so quite handy if you need to pop out and get something. However the down side to this is that it can get quite noisy outside when the bars and clubs shut.

The rooms are quite small and get very hot! But have everything you need.

I did leave some shoes by accident and called them when I got home and they claimed they had not found them...which I don't really believe so was quite annoyed about that.

But overall good for convenience and for somewhere to sleep.

Do not stay at this hotel if you fear for your personal safety. We were awoken at 4.30am by the sound of drunken louts next door and without the use of a phone in the room we were powerless to complain. The screaming and shouting went on for at least 45 minutes and my nights sleep was completely ruined. This hotel needs to make more checks on the clientelle it admits. To add insult to injury we were charged L80 for this dreary cheerless room having paid L90 in central London for a beautiful palatial room the previous night. This hotel is totally unsuitable for decent people wanting a nights sleep, drunken scum however will love it. I urge all decent people to avoid this hotel at all costs. I will never be surprised if I hear of a serious incident of violence occuring at this wretched establishment - you have been warned!

I was very disappointed in my stay at the Kingston-Upon-Thames Travelodge. Its convenient location to the city centre is all that I could find to recommend it. 90 GBP a night (for a weekend stay) is outrageous for a room that is on the ground level with a back alley (as mine was), and for a hotel with NO amenities that will not even allow guests to leave their luggage if they check in before their room is ready or check out before they are ready to leave the area. Additionally, I was not given my phone messages by the front desk (a real problem when the rooms do not have personal phones for the guests). I will stay anywhere but Travelodge again and will advise my friends and colleagues to avoid it as well.

My son and I stayed here over last Friday and Saturday nights to see a concert at Twickenham. Having read previous reviews I was not expecting the Ritz but this was the only place I could find.

First the positives. This hotel has an excellent location being within 3 minutes walk of the train station and an entertainment complex called The Rotunda which comprises of a multi-screen cinema, ten-pin bowling and lots of restaurants. There are also a couple of clubs nearby and contrary to other posters we didn't have any problems with noise.

The bed was very comfortable and the linen was clean and changed daily. There was an adequate supply of tea/coffee but no biscuits etc.

Now for the negatives. There was only one bath towel and one hand towel provided each day although there were 2 of us staying and there were no toiletries provided. The room was very basic and there was no bath only a shower. The room was also very hot and there was no air-con. The worst of all was the exorbitant price of L200 for 2 nights!!!

If I had known the area better, I would have booked a hotel in London as the train services to Twickenham from London are excellent.

For L80 per night I had expected more. A mix up in our booking meant myself and my friend got a double room instead of a twin/family room and had to keep it for first two nights. We were staying for 4 nights and could not move as it was Rugby weekend in Twickenham nearby and every other place v busy. On Sunday we asked agin to move as the room was very cramped to be greated with a sullen "I can't believe you didn't come down before 12!" (it was 12:15) which I ignored. After moving to our new room which had disgusting black and stained net curtains with cigarette burns we had to ask for sheets to make up the second bed. Shortly after this we discovered the main bed had only three legs! Leaving it with the staff to short out we left for the day. On our return we thought we had been raided as the bed was upside down (with our belongings underneath). With great effort we removed our suitcases and moved on to room number 3. This was slightly cleaner looking (but I still disliked walking on that carpet with bare feet!) and discovered that not only were there no sheets for the second bed again but there was a blood stain on the duvet for it. An embarassed but helpful new receptionist called on us with a new duvet and said we were entitled to a refund. We received refund for one night only and had to wait around half of our last day to get it as the manager was proving elusive. Wrote an email to the company but no reply yet.
