Jurys Inn Heathrow

We were in transit in London overnight, arrived at 9pm and scheduled to fly out at 11am next day. The hotel accomodated myself, partner and 3 young children under 5 in a family room. The housekeeping staff provided us what we needed (towels, linen) and the restaurant accomodated our specific breakfast requests. The room and bathroom were clean and very comfortable. The cost was very reasonable. We had a room that overlooked the airport and it was a delight to wake up to a view of sunrise and planes landing nearby seen from our soundproof room. I very worthwhile way to end off any holiday.

I chose the Jurys Inn based on the cheap price and the decent standard of room at another Jurys Inn I'd stayed in, but not sure if I would go back to the Heathrow one if I could find another hotel with similar price and location.

Arrived at night to check in and upon opening the door to my room was almost overpowered by the thick stench of cigarette smoke. It must have been fairly recent smoke as the room was hazy. We immediately asked for another room.

Our replacement room was clean and smoke-free, but had no hair dryer, which was annoying for my wife, but at least the room didn't stink. The bed in the second room was a fold-out-of-the-wall bed. I found it comfortable enough; my wife did not.

Service during the checkout was fine, but the person I dealt with about changing rooms was grumpy and seemed reluctant to change them, insisting that our original room was smoke free.

It was very easy to get to and from Heathrow by taking the Underground to Hatton Cross and walking for five minutes.

Coincidentally, this is the second time we've stayed at Jurys Inn and the second time we've had to change rooms upon check-in - the other time was for no electricity in the room. Can't recall another time at the dozens of hotels I've stayed at that I've ever had to change rooms, so odd that it's 2 for 2 at the Jurys Inn chain.
