Stayed for one night (6 hours really) as I had an early flight. Found the room clean and comfortable, The bar was pleasant and the food was OK but pricey and not great. Service overall is good. I think the £2 charge for the Bus is crazy and gives feeling it is preparing you for your Ryanair flight!

On the up side, the bar / restaurant area is quite lovely, my partner and I enjoyed some delicious food and a few wines here in the evening. The gym and pool looked modern and clean - both being of a reasonable size. The shuttle service was on time as per the timetable - even if a little infrequent for my liking.

On the down side, the room was rather small and more than a little ordinary. There was little to distinguish it from being a room one would expect at a Travelodge or Premier Travel Inn. There is no mini-fridge (or associated bar) and room service took quite some time (and a second call) to bring up an ice bucket. At half hourly intervals, the shuttle service is too infrequent and also charges 2 pound per person in each direction.

Would I stay here again? If, as in this instance, there was a large difference in the rate from the Raddisson SAS (over 50 pound) then yes I would. If ther difference in cost was any less than this I would have to say no and stay at the SAS which is much newer, nicer and also connected to the airport terminal.

on the positive - clean, staff friendly enough, breakfast was pretty good, and available from 4am for early flights

on the negative - don't expect to have to pay £2 for a shuttle bus to an 'airport' hotel. buses go on the half hour and hour - a taxi costs £9 (it's a 15 minute drive). charging for the bus just doesn't set the right impression - poor show, hilton! rooms are ok, nothing special, the (admittedly huge) tv had very poor digital reception, and worst of all, the bed was very badly made - i'm not the fussy type, but i had to re-make it myself before i could comfortably sleep in it.

This hotel is okay for one overnight to catch a early flight from the airport, nothing else. Paid 60 pounds for a night, it's okay. If you want to spend more money, choose the Radisson.

Location: 15 minutes with the shuttle bus, 2 pounds one way (should be complimentary). The hotel looks outdated and far away from anything spectacular. The lobby is the size of a bedroom, very ugly and small. Decorations are absent, very basic and old. The breakfast is basic and the selection is not good enough. Won't stay at the hotel more than 1 night, the premise is very depressing. The rooms are about 15 sq. meters, very small.

Otherwise the hotel is okay, just please remove the "Hilton" prefix and just leave the "Stansted Airport Hotel" sign, and everything gonna be all right....
