I tend to stay here when I travel down to London a few times a year, either by myself or with friends / family. Its a reasonable hotel, friendly staff and a fantastic location. I tend to use hotelclub for booking here, as they're the cheapest and include breakfast.

Its only a few minutes walk from the Lambeth North tube station and I feel safe walking to and from the hotel when I am on my own.

The breakfast is hot or cold buffet style, its obviously busier at the weekends but they top up the food often.

Theres the usual tea/coffee making facilities in the room, which is topped up daily. There are shower caps in the bathroom as well as soap, shampoo/shower gel dispensers.

There are two lifts, one broke whilst I was there but it was soon fixed by an engineer.

We stayed on a Friday and Saturday night. The mattress was the sort I thought I'd left behind in scruffy bedsits 30 years ago. The extractor fan in the bathroom ran 24/7 and the staff didn't seem interested. We found the room small and the furnishings cheap. And if you don't understand how the breakfast 'system' works, you end up with a cold plateful of food. Having said that, plus points are that it is easy to find and very close to the Tube. And the pub directly opposite does really excellent food.

Stayed here in October, overnight due to an earlier course start in London. The room was spacious & clean. Its in a great location only a short walk from the tube & waterloo station. Breakfast was plentiful & varied with pleasant staff available to help. THe only problems I had were the window to my room was ajar & I was unable to pull it shut easily I ended up climbing into the drawer top to be able to reach & slam it shut. Also the bed was far too soft for me, as I like a reasonably firm bed. On the plus side the power shower was amazing.

The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from the tube station and easy to find. Handily situated with a couple of pubs nearby so you can have a drink later on without chasing back across the tubes line before it closed. The rooms are nice and clean although a bit small but you're not living in them are you.The bed was really comfy. Breakfast was great but bit chaotic with not enough tables available for the amount of people who wanted breakfast at the same time. But it was ok you just join other people. Saying please and thank you to the staff can go a long way in getting a smile. We felt a bit sorry for the guy when we collected our cases on the last day when he said that we were the ONLY people to say please and thank you when collecting them. Manners cost nothing. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.
