I do a lot of travelling with my work as a web designer, meeting clients, going to conferences etc, and finding somewhere that you can trust to deliver so you can forget about the aggravation of potential dissapoint is paramount to any successful trip, at least in my opinion.

For the last 18 months I have been usng Abode Hotels ( http://www.abodehotels.co.uk ) as they have never failed to deliver, so when needed for a recent seminar in London i checked their website above as i always do (should probably save those numbers by now right!?) and discovered that they now in fact have a new 'range' of hotels, if you can call it that, i guess its just a re-brand of some description, and Sydeney House in Chelsea is the first in this line for them.

I'm pleased to say that the hotel was beautiful, the staff very helpful and courteous (i hate bad manners above anything else) and in general i enjoyed my stay greatly.

I think the point of the 'Baby Abode' is to provide hotels in less congested areas, the side roads that people dont generally bother, and personally, for me, it worked, and i would happily visit there again.

I'm a Somerset man, so when i visit London i'm pleased that i now have a refuge from the chaos!

But on a serious note, a very pleasant stay was had, and i recommend to those that can afford it, as, although not aimed at the lower-end market, they do deliveron value for that money.

Spent 2 nights at hotel as birthday treat.... and it was! Loved everything about it, room, bathroom, gorgeous big comfy bed, big opening windows and balcony overlooking street.

The staff were lovely and the room service quick, friendly and efficient. The public rooms were chic and stylish. The only problem now is that I don't want to try anywhere else....!

What you see on the website is what you get! This is a really lovely small hotel in a great location. A stone's throw to South Kensington tube on one side and King's Road, Chelsea on the other. Lots of cafes, shops and restaurants in close proximity.

OK, our room wasn't huge but this was more than made up by the comfort factor. Beautifully decorated with fine quality fixtures and fittings...including luxurious bed and linen. Also, the staff were friendly and unfailingly helpful.

I have stayed in places in London costing more and offering far less. We got a great rate by booking ahead online, and were not disappointed in any way.

This is a stylish abode without the price tag or formality that often goes with it. A rarity in London! Any time I am in London again I wouldn't hesitate to rebook.

A compact hotel. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel easy walking to the Kings Rd, the Royal Brompton Hospital and five minutes to South Kensington underground station. The negatives: The complimentary map was inadequate with advertising obscuring areas close to the hotel which was located at the edge of the map. A complimentary PC in the public area was useful and necessary for finding information regarding the underground train drivers strike, weather, theatre etc; this substituted for a concierge service.

Our double room was very cramped, (there was barely room for the empty suitcases) but clean and fresh. Bed and pillows, duna good quality and very comfortable. Bathroom shower over the bath, inadequate surfaces for personal toiletries. We thought expensive compared to 4 star hotels in Singapore, Australia but probably fair for London.

This was a perfect base for our 2 week trip around London. It was outside the city but it was SO easy to get downtown. A quick walk a block away to the tube station and your there. The neighborhood was fantastic, safe and clean. We strolled down the street at 1 am with no problems. There are also several fantastic restraunts only a few steps away. A great pub, an Italian place, and a Thai place. The room itself was good sized for London and the bedding was very plush and comfortable. We have reservations again for this year!
