Safe, clean, value hotel chain
This was the 2nd time I've stayed at a Premier Inn location and I was yet again thoroughly pleased. They are clean and affordable! Would absolutely stay at this chain again.
Down fall to this location is to get into London you have to pay for a shuttle and the tube. Can get pricey due to the shuttle cost. It was convenient to Heathrow though and was fine for a quick stay before continuing on.
Nice place to stay for the price
A pleasant surprise - and great find. The hotel is conveniently located from heathrow airport (12 pounds by taxi -shuttle is cheaper at 4 pounds a person). Staff is very accommodating; room is clean and adequately furnished with neccesities. Would stay there again.
Good choice for a layover
I have stayed at the Premier Inn for one night in November 2008, and generally I must say that I liked it. It is a budget hotel so I did not expect any luxury amenities.
Check-in took a while- first of all there was quite a line (it was Saturday evening at about 6 pm) and secondly staff seemed unmotivated and not very focused (they talked to each other more than to the guests), but I got checked in ok eventually.
The room was not huge but had a large nice bed, good TV and a nice bathroom. Everything seemed quite new and very clean. The room faced an inner courtyard, so there was no view and I pulled the curtains shut to have privacy.
Wireless Internet was available for a reasonable fee and worked well.
The next morning I realized how full the hotel must have been when I had breakfast. I was like a madhouse- staff wasn't able to deal with the number of guests adequately.
It took about 20 min to get a table and than you had to fight for plates and cutlery, as they were constantly running out of it and we were forced to wait until a new batch came in from having just been cleaned. The food choices were ok but really nothing special.
Tons of kids were running around and making quite a bit of noise. All in all I found the breakfast disappointing - however it was not the staff's fault as they did all they could to clear tables and get people seated-it is just that the capacity was not there to deal with all the customers.
On the previous night I took the Hoppa shuttle from terminal 5 to the hotel and when leaving I departed from Terminal 1. It was not easy to figure out when the sheduled departure times were and front desk staff were not very helpful either. So I waited about 20 min for the appropriate shuttle.
All in all it was an ok stay with a few surprises, but if you need a one night stopover near Hearthrow and are not on a really tight schedule, I can recommend this hotel- mostly for its location and the reasonable rates.
Nice stay near Heathrow
We stayed at the Premier Inn London - Heathrow (M4/J4) in early September on the night we arrived at Heathrow. We arrived around midnight and had no problem checking in that late. We asked about a bus to the hotel from Heathrow, but a bus driver said no bus went there that late at night, so we took a taxi from the airport. Cost was about 15 pounds and the driver got us there in 5-10 minutes tops (scary driving, honestly).
The front desk was very accommodating, but the late night staff wasn't completely knowledgeable. They were out of wall adapters, as well.
As for the room, it was very nice and quiet. You shouldn't be able to hear any planes from Heathrow which is fantastic. The bed was big and comfortable, as was the room. The hot shower and toilet were nice, although there was a spider in the shower (not a big deal, just sprayed it down the drain). The room has a late check out time of 12pm, which is also a positive. We were able to take a hoppa bus back to Heathrow at noon and it was inexpensive (5~ pounds for 2 people).
One negative, the bar / restaurant has weird hours. It was closed when we arrived at midnight, and closed again when we tried at like 11:30am.
Internet is not free.
With advanced booking, an outstanding value
We stayed here one night, catching our flight early the next morning. This is a typical business hotel, very close to Heathrow airport. It's a very basic hotel, but everything was clean, and the room was quiet. No luxuries here, but all the necessities, and with advanced non-refundable booking it was an outstanding value.
Dinner was reasonably priced and of adequate quality. No one is going to come here just to eat. That understood, the service was good.
Next time through, I'm staying here again.
