Well after reading the reviews on here, we were slightly cautious about staying at the Osterley Park to the point that we nearly rebooked with someone else! We were travelling from Plymouth, Devon to London for the weekend to go to the NFL American Football game at Wembley Stadium so wanted somewhere just for 2 nights.

I have to say, I dont know whether people visited the hotel when it was part way through its refurbishment or not but some of the reviews certainly were not what we got when we got there!

The hotel itself was really easy to find (we are normally the couple that travels hundreds of miles with no problem and then gets lost 5 minutes away from our destination!!) its just about 5-10 mins off the M4 which was brilliant! We pulled up in the carpark and immediately got the impression that it was nice enough on the outside for what we wanted.. we found the reception with no problems (as some people on here found it difficult) and the guy on the reception was polite, spoke brilliant English and had the price that we were quited upon booking correct.... so far so good! We were in room 56 which was in the main hotel (there was also an external block of rooms) on the first floor and when we got to the room, it was absolutely fine!! No water dripping down walls, no hair in the bath, toilet was clean, clean towells in the bathroom, and the bed was bigger than the one we have at home so it was fab!! The TV only had channels 1-5 but that wasnt a problem at all, the sky didnt work but we assumed you had to pay extra for that.

Unfortunately we didnt experience the room service but that was through choice, we did however have the full english breakfast on the Sunday and Monday morning which was about ten pounds each but well worth it!! We had access to Cereal, Toast, Beverages, Boiled Eggs, Croissants, Yogurt and fruit and was followed by a gorgeous fry up! No complaints there either.

On both nights that we stayed, there were 2 Indian (pardon me if this part is slightly incorrect) weddings and we didnt feel disturbed by the noise, the attendees looked absolutely stunning and the array of colours really was impressive! I can imagine if you were in one of the downstairs rooms then the noise could well have disturbed you but certainly not from where we were on the first floor right above it.

Anyway it was easy enough to get into central London and we will definately be staying there again next year when the NFL comes to town !

For anyone wondering... the WiFi was about 5 pounds for one hours access but I dont remember what he said about 24 hr access. I would contact them for more info but it was around 25 pounds I think. 8-)

although room was relatively clean it was in a very worn state. Yhe carpet was coming away in the doorway revealing the gripper and was very painfull if you stood on it. central heating on full blast all day and the knob to control it was loose and it coudlnt be adjusted, the shower trickled out and the bath tub was mildewy. they have live music every fri and sat till about 1am and it is VERY load as are the guests when they leave ( they dont appear to be staying at the hotel either). walls a very thin and we heard everything that went on next door!!! breakfast was extremely por for £6.95...toast, cheap cocopops and cornflakes, dry croissants and yoghuts, and the coffe was dreadfull, i didnt eat there after thw first morning.

one of the beds was missing its side so you could see right through to theother side!!

This place is better described as a motel. Everything is old and unkempt; the "view" from the window was a very dirty roof; it hasn't been remodeled in probably thirty years; and I was extremely disappointed that the website makes this place look beautiful, clean, and new, when it is very much not. The staff were nice enough, but they tended to wander about the hotel and not always be there, and we didn't bother eating there. There was a wedding on the nights we stayed, with lots of loud music and karaoke.

This was the most horrific hotel I had ever stayed in. The website is good and the hotel looked reasonable. It was the night before my husband and I flew off on our honeymoon, we had managed to get a good rate through laterooms.com. I had booked a double room only for just £50. When we arrived at the hotel we were filled with dread at the site of the shabby looking pub attached that appeared to be showing sport, we had not been informed of this. When we finally found the badly signed reception I went in to book in. They had not been too keen when I said about the lateroom.com rate on the phone to book and on checking in they tried to deny all knowledge of this rate and wanted to charge us almost double. After a while they were then trying to then make me pay and extra £20 or so for a full english breakfast which was pointless as my other half was ill and I am a vegetarian. So I paid the £50 for the room, he gave me a card and directions round to an area by the pub. We had to walk up three flights of stairs, avoid water dripping through the ceiling into buckets and not touch the walls due to the water running down them and around the electric switches. Our room was right at the top! As soon as I opened the door I was horrified, there were twin beds, the headboard was loose and fell off when my husband was inspecting it. There was mould around the windows, the floor was filthy and obviously hadnt been hoovered in a while. The bathroom was a health hazard, mould, other peoples hair and the pan of the loo was so disgusting. Immediately I refused to stay in this room, we had to walk all the way back down the stairs and around to the reception, I was so angry. When I told the chap of all these problems and demanded a refund, they showed us to another room, which had a huge kingsize (Two beds pushed together) bed, but this room was cleaner and the bathroom acceptable (Although still other peoples hair in the shower). It was on the lower floor close to the reception, so we could hear the door going all night. I was genuinly concerned about the safety of us and our car.

We ate in the restaurant that evening thinking things could not be much worse. We noted more leaks, more water running through lights sockets and just generally looking incredibly shabby. We were given stale poppadoms and a cucumber rajita sauce which I had just seen the waitress wave flys off of. Needles to say we didnt eat this, the drinks were slow to arrive and we were concerned about the quality of the food, but we were both so tired after a long trip we no longer had the energy to argue or look for somewhere else. When the mains arrived, it looked fine and to be fair, these were actually quite nice.

But despite the good main course food I certainly would not reccommend anybody to stay here, I have stayed in a few places and this place was dire.

I stayed at this hotel with my boyfriend and a number of his family members whilst attending a wedding.

We actually drove past it at first thinking it couldn't be the right place as the pictures on the internet looked so nice!! Car park is awful and looks really seedy (it was safe though, our car was still there in the morning!) on entering the hotel it smelt really bad of curry (not a nice fresh waft of it though!). Halls and communal areas to our room were awful and looked something you see out of a horror film where somebody is about to die!! The smell of curry continued all the way through the hotel (apart from a couple of areas that smelt of sickly cheap air freshner). The bathroom was disgusting, the shower was extremely poor and the shower curtain was filthy too.

Other guests we knew actually walked straight out without checking in and went to a Best Western down the road - really wish we had done this too!!!

Would only recommend to my worst enemy!!
