About West Park Gardens
A warm welcome from Robyn and Norman.
Our House
Late Victorian, our house was extended by Norman, a retired professor of architecture, in 1999. In bringing extra space and light to the interior including the private guest conservatory, the extension complements the house while not pretending to mimic the original style, a common mistake!
The Area
Our house is within easy walking distance of Kew Gardens (5-7 mins), The National Archives, (3 mins), Kew Gardens Station and Kew Village, a charming shopping precinct (5 mins).
Richmond Park, Chiswick House, Gunnersbury Park, Marble Hill Park, Old Deer Park, Barnes Common and the London Wetlands bird sanctuary are within short driving distance and beyond are Hampton Court and Park, Bushy Park, and Syon House and Park.
The Kew Retail Park, including Marks & Spencer, Boots, Next, Gap, Mothercare and Tk Maxx is 2 minutes away. Guests can avail themselves of the wide range of prepared and take-away foods at the M&S supermarket.
Museums and Galleries
The Orleans House Gallery, Garrick’s Temple to Shakespeare, the Museum of Richmond, The Museum of Rugby and Twickenham Stadium Tours and the Landmark Art Centre are nearby at Hampton, Richmond, Twickenham and Teddington.
Restaurants
A good range of restaurants offering French, English, Thai, Indian, Greek and Chinese cuisine is available within 5-7 minutes walking distance at Kew Green, and Kew Village leading onto Sandycombe Road. There are also pubs at Kew Green and Kew Village.
Access
By train, we are about 35 minutes to the West End and 5 minutes to the South West Rail connection at Richmond to Waterloo. A travel card for travel on the London Underground and buses can be purchased at Kew Gardens Station.
We also have a bus connection to Richmond Station from the R68 bus terminus 1 minute away. The R68 bus and local Westminster Thames ferry service (5mins) also serves Hampton Court. By car, it is only 3-5 minutes to the A316 (M3) and the M4.
Parking
We have an off-street parking space for guests.
Breakfast
Breakfast is served in our main conservatory overlooking our rear garden from 7.30 to 9am. We offer a continental breakfast. We cater for those on wheat-free diets.
