We stayed 5 nights and were delighted with the accomodation and facilities. You always approach a budget hotel with some trepidation. It is a description that covers a multitude of experiences, but we have no hesitation in recommending The Amhurst Hotel. We were made to feel very welcome and at home from the moment we arrived . The staff were very friendly, helpful and went about their business with good humour. We made good use of the cooking facilities. There was a fridge in the room large enough for our requirements, a kitchen that was kept spotlessly clean that had a good selection of cutlery, crockery, utensils and pots and pans. The cooker was also very clean and worked well alongside the microwave making our stay even more affordable as we were able to cook ourselves breakfast and an evening meal as well as making a pack up to take out for the day. There was a dining room for all guests to use, but for us what made this just a cut above the ordinary was the garden at the back of the property. It is a large lawned area with tables and chairs and a gazebo providing shelter from either the sun or rain. It really was very pleasant starting the day with an al-fresco breakfast and finishing the day unwinding with a beer or two in the evening. Nice one Jim, we hope to stay with you again.

We enjoyed our time here so much!! Small simple room, clean and proper. Nice neighbourhood. Nice and quiet. I was here with my friend for three nights and we had a blast. The manager was very friendly and helpfull. To be able to sit in the garden and have a chat if you want to is great! I will surely never stay anywhere els when I'm going to London. If I,m going to London I will stay at this hotel.

My friend and I stayed here for one night and very much enjoyed our time. The double en suite is simple but clean and in a quiet Jewish neighborhood. For the price, I do not regret one bit staying outside of central London. The location is along the transit line which makes getting downtown easy. Chris, the manager on duty, was very helpful and fun to talk to. We did run into one problem with the toilet leaking but this was fixed very quickly. This is a place I would go to again, which for me is a mark of quality.

Don't be put off by bad reviews by people looking for a cheap hotel in London if you want cheap digs for working away this is good value and you can get a self contained room with kitchen so no eating out every night. Free parking which can be a bit jammed in (just leave your tel. no. in window and it can be sorted easily) or park on road. Landlord was sound and was constantly asking "everything OK" and was happy to oblige if it wasn't.
