Good Stay
Booked this through Hotels4U at a cost of L50.00 excluding breakfast. We travelled from York to Kings Cross - shuttle to Heathrow and then the Heathrow Hoppa to the Hotel.
Check in was quick and we were happy enough with the room, large, clean and only for one night.
It was about 3.30pm by then and we decided to go for a walk around the nearby village and eat at the Plough as recommended a lot by previous reviews. We passed the Plough on our walk and it looked very busy. After a stroll round the village - lovely sunshine - we ended up back at the Plough. I don't think we are overly fussy but I found the toilets a bit grotty and the place a little shabby. It was very busy with large parties and families but they told us that we could have a table ' in a few minutes' After about 15 minutes when we were about to leave having finished a drink they showed us to a table but 10 minutes later we still hadn't had our order taken so we decided not to bother.
Had a drink and a light supper at the hotel - a bit pricey but the surroundings were pleasant enough and the service was quite good.
We asked for a quiet room and we got one, I am a bit of an insomniac and read for an hour or so before sleeping and also awoke very early and then dozed for an hour or so before getting up, never heard a sound from anywhere!!!
Decided against breakfast which was very overpriced - but bearing that in mind and making other plans to eat we would probably book again just for a pre-flight night.
Another super stay !
Stayed at this magnificent hotel again for my wife's recent birthday. Amazing room and amazing service. A personal welcome from the Guest Relations Manager, Fruit basket and birthday card in our room for my wife and excellent and filling breakfast accompanied by power showers and crisp white linen and immaculate room ! This is my base when visiting nearby Southall or flying back to Manchester from now on !
Good airport hotel
Booked this hotel for a one night stopover on return to the UK from Australia. Got a good price of L49 for a double room with breakfast which was advertised on the hotel website as an Autumn break. The room was clean, beds comfortable although the pillows were a bit hard.
The breakfast was typical buffet "all you can eat" so good value for what we paid.
The only downside is that you could not get a free bus to the hotel but had to use the airport Shuttle bus which at L4 each one way is a bit of a rip-off for a 5 minute journey!
Hmmm
We used this hotel as a stopover and with parking and booked on it's ICHotles website.
We had a nice family room on the way out and were please although there was no room for parking and we had to leave our car on the grass. - the parking wasn't very organised and extremely busy.
The room we stayed in when we cam back from our long haul trip was horrible. Very tired and indesperate need of refurbishment.
Fine, as always.
Always stay here the night before a long flight and once again it didn't disappoint. Had our hotel night plus 15 nights parking for L59 through Holiday Extras. Did not eat in the hotel this time as we have paid through the nose before for very average fare. The Plough pub next door is much cheaper and much better. Room was clean and quiet and well equipped.
If you want 5 star luxury don't stay here, but I'm not a 5 star person so I most certainly will.
