My mam and I have just returned after staying for one night at the parkwood this weekend. The location was fantastic for shopping with Oxford Street and Marble Arch tube station just minutes walk away. The hotel itself is fantastic with a welcoming lounge and lovely staff who were happy to help, they even allowed us to order in food when the weather was to bad to go out for a meal. Once we got our case to the room the stairs wernt to much of a problem but if you are older or would struggle to carry luggage up the steep stairs at the top then make sure you book early and request a room on a lower floor. It wasnt bad for us though. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable with a flat screen tv on the wall and a sink and lit mirror over it. There was plenty of storage for clothes and all your things. The breakfast room was lovely and we were served very quickly a full english breakfast with toast tea and as much cereal and juice as you like, you are even offered seconds of the cooked breakfast if you can manage it. The hotel is in a little street next to Hyde Park for excellent evening walks which meant it was lovely and quiet which is a bonus being so close to everything. We will certainly be using the hotel again and would recommend it.

The room was nice but quiet smal, as was the bathroom. There is no elevator so be prepared to carry your bags.

Staff were friendly and happy to assist. Breakfast was also good.

Enjoyed our stay and thought it was good value for money, would certainly return.

Apart from the climb to the room which was on the fourth floor our stay was excellent. Extremely pleasant, friendly (always smiling), courteous and helpful staff. Breakfast was exzcellent and the room although a bit cozy was most comfortable. The room could have used more hooks for hanging towels and a light over the sink. The location so near the tube station and bus stops was also in a lovely neighbourhood near to shopping and a multitude of Lebanese restaurants. As for value I would recommend this to any vistor to London.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of a month long trip around Europe. It was a terrific place to stay and quite cheap compared with lots of places in central London. English breakfasts were terrific - as much as you want to eat - although the coffee was not all that great everything else was delicious.

The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from Marble Arch tube station and is close to so many things including Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens. Heaps of places to eat in Notting Hill just two tube stations away or a 20 minute walk.

One night we had an ensuite which was great, but even on the other two nights where we had a shared bathroom, we only had to share with 2 other couples and there were no problems with hot water running out or anything. They said they had free wireless but we couldn't get it to work, however there is a computer with free Internet in the reception area. The staff were happy to mind our bags all day while we went to an all day music event, even though we checked out that morning.

The only thing I would say about the hotel to be wary of is that it is heritage listed and therefore only has a narrow flight of stairs and no lift - not a problem for us as we are young and my husband is quite strong, but could be hard for elderly people coming up and down the stars or if you have heavy suitcases.

When we left we were given a voucher for 10% off our next stay - we will come back when we return to London. Charming and lovely.
