Building: Nice enough, rooms standard, clean.

Staff: Helpful

Breakfast: We didnt know they had breakfast, since its a hostel, but it was ok. Toast and cereal, tea or coffee.

All and all I would recommend this hostel.

I stayed in Hyde Park View this June. The location was ecxellent, close to the park and tube station. There are some restaurants in the area so it was a bit loud in the nighttime but it didn't bother me too much. I shared my room with six other guests and the room was small, fortunately we got along well...Our room was clean enough and having an en-suite bathroom was great. I'm quite sure you won't find better place to stay in such a low price. Granted Hyde Park View is no five star hotel but I think it's good for any budget traveller. If I'll ever go back to London I just might stay at Hyde Park View.

This place is not as bad as some of the review suggest. The staff was friendly, the bathrooms were tiny but absolutely OK , it was clean and not smelly. Room for two is nice eqipped with TV, el.kettle and nescafe and tea bags to make it. Also nice white thick towels, shapoon and soap is included. Hotel and neighbourhood was quiet. The biggest advantages are obviously it's great location and price. My and my wife stay in two bad room, bads were fully prepare to sleep in. In our original room appeared leak problem during day, since we were out. Hotell staff move us quickly to other and this room was preared great as well. When I book this hotel i new that is HOSTEL so I was really pleased to get this kind of comfort for this money.

We arrived as a party of 35 Italian students,,2 Italian teachers,

1 U K guide and myself, their coach driver. The receptions first words to the guide were " £150.,00 cash deposit or you can't book in your party." The Australian receptionist was among the rudest front of house person it has been my luck to meet and i have taken both students and adults to various hotels both home and abroad.

Students were charged £1.50 for a towel per day but were told to use the dirty one the following day even though the fee of £3.00 was charged for the 2 night stay.

The students accommodation was in dormitory style rooms. The adults were in both single and twin rooms. My bed was very uncomfortable, and everytime I moved, it squeeked. I asked reception for a bath plug and was told that they didn't put them in the rooms due to Health & Safety regs. What crap.

Breakfast for the adults is served in the bar area on disposable plates etc. Coffee in polystyrene cups. Breakfast consisted of 2 juices, 2 cereals, and toast and jam, buffet style. A real English breakfast I don't think!!

I would not send my worst enemy to this hell hole.
